Special Events Boost Ridership

February and April spikes reflect Mardi Gras and French Quarter Fest.

Algiers Point

  • Post-COVID ridership rebounding to 35,000–40,000 passengers/month (pre-COVID ~25,000/month)
  • Primarily tourist-driven, with weekday commuter flow toward Canal St in mornings and return trips in afternoons
  • Heavier weekend ridership, especially during major festivals.
  • Peak daily ridership from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Chalmette Route

  • Consistent traffic averaging 30,000 vehicles per month
  • Rush hour peaks in mornings and late afternoons, with near full capacity from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Ridership dips slightly on weekends and during summer, expected to rise again as schools resume.
